Alternate History

Alternate History is our history only up to the point where it diverges. Once the divergence occurs, events and people change, creating an alternate past. The characters can be the cause or the result, or maybe both, possibly neither. Most often, characters work together to try to alter the alternate history. Such tales begin with a “what if” proposition. What if when John Wilkes Booth squeezed the trigger, Lincoln sneezed so hard he dodged the bullet? What if Hitler won WWII? What if the South won the Civil War?
