Genetic Engineering

Genetic Engineering fiction deals with changing a species, usually humanity, at the most basic and enduring level: our DNA. Stories about cloning fall into this genre as do stories about “purifying” a species through eliminating undesirable traits in its DNA. Other concepts in this genre include creating a class system in society based on DNA, mutations to induce new paranormal abilities, and creating armies of super soldiers.
