Time Travel fiction involves moving backward or forward in time and sometimes to parallel timelines or universes. Through the characters, the author is able to view history and its effects into the future and comment upon it, “time tourism”. Common themes are the grandfather paradox, the time loop, precognition, a message from the future, and the butterfly effect.
